GETTING YOUR FOOT IN THE DOOR FOR A POTENTIAL CAREER OR HOBBY IN THE GUIDE OUTFITTING WORLD
Need a career change? Trying to get your foot in the door with a Guide Outfitter? Or just wanting a week getaway to improve your wrangling skills?
Whatever your reasoning, we have the course for you!
Offering small group sizes of up to 12 participants, this six day course will give you plenty of one on one training with experienced Guides, Outfitters, a Licensed Farrier and Ticketed Faller.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Once you sign up for the course we will help you get in contact with multiple reputable outfitters to pursue a job as a wrangler for the upcoming season, if this is what you wish to do. It is not our responsibility to find a placement for you, you are to take your own initiative to follow the resume and interview process, having our course under your belt will highly increase your odds at obtaining a job after completion of the course.
The course takes place a half hour north west of Prince George, B.C. the beginning of July.
BRIEF COURSE OUTLINE:
6 days long
-basic horse skills & saddling
-horse trimming & shoeing
-packing and tying diamonds
-hauling awkward loads on pack horses
-skinning & caping
-chainsaw overview
-backpacking tips
-out camp cooking
We will also be doing an overnight trail ride with the saddle horses and pack horses that you will be working with throughout the course.
During this course participants will be staying in wall tents and/or back pack tents.
All meals are included, with some campfire cooking as an added experience.
This course is a co-ed course and is offered to all age groups (minimum age requirement is 16 years old, unless otherwise agreed upon with Millers Outdoors)
No horse experience is needed.

Course Rate: $3,000.00/person
